Ministries : Technology Team
This ministry coordinates all of the church's technology including
sound, visuals, and lighting for worship services and special events, the church network and computer systems, and this web site.
Mission
The Technology Team provides support to the ministries of All God's Children via current technology and innovations. We do this by providing sound and video for the services and maintaining a presence on the web.
Goals
After several years of rapid expansion of our ministry, this year we will be focusing on improving essentials.
- Increase web site collaboration and provide additional training and documentation to web contributors.
- Launch an improved web site with better navigation, more focus on visitors and newcomers, and enhanced media support.
- Deploy internal AGC portal for staff and leadership using Microsoft SharePoint Services.
- Repair and document equipment.
- Recruit new volunteers for the team.
- Provide better technical support to other ministry teams.
- Make a recommendation for replacement copiers and printers that will yield better quality, require less labor, and result in reduced cost
Responsibilities
- Provide a qualified sound operator and video technician for each church function requiring sound reinforcement and/or video both in and outside of the Sanctuary.
- Maintain, repair, and improve audio and video equipment.
- Make recordings available of each sermon available on our website.
- Maintain a dynamic and professional looking web presence for the church.
- Maintain email accounts for all church staff and leadership.
- Provide basic maintenance and support for a network of computers for staff and volunteers.
- Sustain documentation and procedures for future generations of team members to use and build upon.
Current Activities
- Redesign and organization of our balcony workspace to accomodate our growing ministry.
- Updating procedures for sound, video, and web areas.
- Design and provide a sound system for several outdoor worship services this summer, including Twin Cities Pride.
- Repairing and replacing equipment.
- Using an incremental approach to improving choir sound quality by using more selective microphones, installing accoustical materials, and eventually better separation from the band.
