Mission
TThe Music Ministry of All God’s Children Metropolitan Community Church is committed to providing excellence in music to empower, enhance and support the ministry of this church.
Vision
The Music Ministry of All God’s Children Metropolitan Community Church will provide hot kickin’, tear jerkin’ music to get a bunch of people praisin’ God.
Goals for 2007
- To plan and execute two outreach activities.
- To plan and execute one fundraising activity.
- To participate fully in the activities and appear on stage at the Twin Cities Pride Festival.
General Goals
to educate the congregation on different worship styles.
to provide different worship and musical styles.
to reach out to the younger generation and/or different demographics.
to follow Christ’s example and engage others to follow Christ.
to let the Spirit flow and lead the service.
to continue to work with other teams within All God’s Children to make a more cohesive worship service and experience.
The Chancel Choir
This is our main music body. The Chancel Choir sings at our Sunday morning service and at special worship services throughout the year. The Chancel Choir has sung internationally as well as locally partnering with several community choirs. The choir is featured in the student film, "AWOL." Membership is open to anyone with the gift of music. A brief audition with the director is required to check range. Rehearsals Sunday morning at 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.
The Chamber Ensemble
The Chamber ensemble enhances Sunday morning worship instrumentally. Membership is open to anyone with medium to advanced instrumental skills. Rehearsal is Sunday Morning from 9:00 AM to 9:40 AM.
The Healing and Wholeness Music Team
This team provides musical support for the Healing and Wholeness Team and their services. Membership is by invitation. Rehearsal times vary.
Praise and Worship Team
This team consists of vocalists and instrumentalists. This team provides musical leadership for our Wednesday night SPIRIT! worship service and on Sunday mornings. Membership on this team is by invitation only. Rehearsals are Sunday, 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM and Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This team is featured on the church's first CD release, In This Moment.
Our Concert Series
Our music team also coordinates a concert series held various times throughout the year. Artists such as Marsha Stevens, Jason & deMarco, Mary McCandless, Lucy Blue Tremblay and Patty Peterson minister on Sunday mornings or at special concerts. Watch this website for more information.
