The Music Ministry of All God’s Children Metropolitan Community Church is committed to providing excellence in music to empower, enhance and support the ministry of this church.

Mission

The Music Ministry of All God’s Children Metropolitan Community Church will provide hot kickin’, tear jerkin’ music to get a bunch of people praisin’ God.

Goals

  • Plan and execute two outreach activities.
  • Plan and execute fundraising activities to send music ministry team members to the 2010 MCC General Conference
  • Participate fully in the activities and appear on stage at the Twin Cities Pride Festival.

General Goals

  • Educate the congregation on different worship styles.
  • Provide different worship and musical styles.
  • Reach out to the younger generation and/or different demographics.
  • Follow Christ’s example and engage others to follow Christ.
  • Let the Spirit flow and lead the service.
  • Continue to work with other teams within All God’s Children to make a more cohesive worship service and experience.

Opportunities to Serve

The Chancel Choir

This is our main music body. The Chancel Choir sings at our First Faith Sunday morning service and at special worship services throughout the year. The Chancel Choir has sung internationally as well as locally partnering with several community choirs. The choir is featured in the student film, "AWOL." Membership is open to anyone with the gift of music. A brief audition with the director is required to check range. Rehearsals are Wednesday at 7 PM.

The Praise Band

The Praise Band enhances Sunday morning worship instrumentally. Membership is open to anyone with medium to advanced instrumental skills. Rehearsal is Wednesdays at 6 PM.

Praise and Worship Team

This team consists of vocalists and instrumentalists. This team provides musical leadership for our Second Spirit Sunday worship service. Membership on this team is by invitation only. Rehearsals are Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This team is featured on the church's first CD release, In This Moment.
 

Our Concert Series

Our music team also coordinates a concert series held various times throughout the year. Artists such as Marsha Stevens, Jason & deMarco, Mary McCandless, Lucy Blue Tremblay and Patty Peterson minister on Sunday mornings or at special concerts. Watch this website for more information.
